MEETINGS

The UW-Madison Student Chapter meets every other Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in 5055 Vilas Hall. Contact an officer (listed below) for the date of the next meeting.

CAREER QUEST

Each year the AWC-Madison professional chapter sponsors CareerQuest, a full day of networking between students and area communicators. At the 2007 event in February (photo, left), students learned about professions in broadcast journalism, advertising, corporate communications, freelance writing/editing, and other areas of interest. The 2008 CareerQuest will be held on April 2 at the Pyle Center. Table leaders will again be members of AWC.

DUES

$45 for the year ($29 goes to the national chapter)
$37 for the semester

MEMBERSHIP

As an organization, we expect our members to

• Attend at least three chapter meetings
• Attend at least one social
• Participate in at least one volunteer or fundraising event per semester.

In return, you’re invited to

• Network with members of Madison’s Professional Chapter
• Attend Professional Chapter meetings at a discount
• Learn about internship opportunities
• Take our Chapter trip to Chicago to tour various communications agencies
• Volunteer in the community
• Take advantage of help preparing your resume and portfolio
• Learn interviewing techniques
• Apply for the Catch a Rising Star Scholarship Award
• Meet gals you’ll be friends with for a lifetime!
